Earth & Heaven

There is nothing on earth:
No person attractive enough,
No money massive enough,
No object valuable enough,
No concept pleasing enough,
No power strong enough
For me to deny Christ’s love.

There is given from heaven:
A sprite attractive enough,
A worth massive enough,
A gift valuable enough,
A thought pleasing enough,
A force strong enough
To keep us within God’s fold.

Science Fiction

Studying the natural world of
Classical elements that be four.
Intelligence and ignorance,
Effects are results of causes.
Neglected by man or not,
Creation of the universe as order
Earth and all in it we interact with.

Fanciful stories we tell of
Imaginary folks and places,
Captivating your minds,
Thoughts and emotions.
In times of lax or activities,
Other realms of such tales
Now live with and around us.

Reformative Solas

The Scripture alone
Is the mightiest sword.

Our Faith alone
We make Him our Lord.

By Grace alone
He calls us His own.

In Christ alone
Salvation is now shown.

To God alone be all the glory,
All the honour and all the praise.

Inspired by the five solas of the Reformation: Sola Scriptura, Sola Fide, Sola Gratia, Sola Christus and Sola Deo Gloria.

Imagine

With heavenly glory
You call us Yours
By grace and mercy
Love you freely give

Divine joy and peace
You are God, not we
Long-suffering are You,
Yet judgments still true

Your thoughts are high,
Loftier than mine.
Your ways are far above,
Imagine them I cannot.

Back in February 2016 I started writing this poem. I had posted it as an unfinished poem and today I revisited it. Here is the final blog version.

Meaning of Life!?

If I told you there is an answer,
Would you want to hear it?
If I told you Who has the answer,
Would you want to ask Him?

If I told you it requires a reply,
Would you want to voice it?
If I told you that you must reply,
Would you want to seek Him?

If I told you where to find it,
Would you want to read it?
If I told you you’ve heard it before,
Would you want to knock on His door?

And allow Him into your life?

So that you can live your life to the fullest?

Writer’s Block

We all stumble. We all fall.
Sometimes a block is the cause.
A writer knows this the best,
For he will stall just because.

A writer’s block is the worst.
It’s not others that will fall,
But his own ideas will burst.
For he does have a strange call.

After his stumble and his fall,
Like the winds of space and time
New ideas will change his block
Into an awe inspiring rhyme.
